The Extraudio XP3 preamplifier has been created with pure Class A BJT transistor stages and minimising the audio signal throughput to have a flat response, with a totally punchy sound in the low frequencies and also very analogue, but with a lot of speed and expressiveness.
The XP3 is characterized by its organic and real sound, with the perfect timbre of musical instruments, and capable of conveying all the emotion of music like no other preamplifier.

The routing of audio tracks is vital. That’s why we take exquisite care with the crosstalk of the audio tracks, as well as bathing all our PCBs in electrolytic gold to improve conductivity. All this gives us an extra silence, and a spectacular separation of the three frequency bands -low, medium and high-, achieving that the instruments are defined, separated and with their exact pitch, without mixing or clouding each other. In short, an electronic device that transmits real music.

CONNECTIVITY AND BYPASS HOME THEATER

In the Extraudio XP3 we have incorporated compatibility with home theatre systems, with specific RCA and XLR inputs, turning the preamplifier into a bypass for your home theatre.

This functionality will allow you to connect an AV processor to the power amplifiers through the XP3. This way, when you want to watch a movie using a home theatre AV system, by connecting the XP3 bypass you can still enjoy the sound quality of a superb stereo amplifier, such as the Extraudio XP-A800, connected to the front speakers without having to change or disconnect speaker cables, or invest more money in a second audio amplifier.

The Extraudio XP3 has three RCA line inputs and a balanced XLR input, in addition to the aforementioned home theatre by-pass inputs.

Last but not least, Extraudio has not forgotten about vinyl fans. With them in mind, we have integrated an RCA turntable input and grounding for the XP3.

The Extraudio XP3 features two outputs, one RCA and one XLR. One of them can be used to feed a stereo power amplifier and the second one, for example, to connect one or two subwoofers, these outputs are independent.

The unit also incorporates two trigger outputs to power other products directly from the preamplifier.

Finally, an optional internal turntable preamplifier module for MM/MC Extraudio PH2 capsules is available for internal installation.

As for the design and aesthetics of the XP3 preamplifier’s exterior, we maintain the Extraudio style: minimalist, timeless and neutral. Extraudio equipment blends perfectly into any home, be it modern or classic in style.

In the chassis, we have applied our construction experience, based on the use of solid 6000 aeronautical aluminium panels of the highest hardness and quality. This construction provides strength and durability to the product, minimizing vibrations.

The front aesthetics of the XP3 preamplifier have been designed in a simple way. On the front panel, in addition to the power button, there are two knobs: one for volume control and one for input selection. Linked to the latter are six LEDs in the central part with their respective legends, which, when illuminated, indicate the corresponding active input. At Extraudio we think that everything else should be inside the product, controlled by our software, and not fill the exterior with banal things.

The XP3 preamplifier includes the exclusive Extraudio remote control, conceived from a different approach, looking for the user’s comfort.

Extraudio sought to offer a device in which battery life and operating distance were its main features. Both objectives have been largely achieved.

The remote control does not have removable batteries but integrates an internal battery that only needs to be recharged with a standard USB charger.

The transmission range is 20 to 80 meters, depending on the country of use and the electromagnetic or RF interference present.

The design retains the minimalist line, the hallmark of Extraudio’s products, based on Mies Van Der Rohe’s philosophy of “less is more”.

There are only four buttons: on/off, volume up and down, and mute. The concept behind this remote control is unusual, pursuing a more efficient and ergonomic creation. We stand for functionality and form in design and not banality.
